Do you consider investing in your professional growth and signing up for a specialized course?
The subsidy program Jsem v kurzu is still running, and all individuals can apply regardless of their current employment status – it is open to employees, students, and job seekers alike. The good news is that the program for digital education has been extended. You can apply for courses until October 31, 2025, and complete the training by December 31, 2025, giving you the chance to continue learning under very favorable conditions.
Over the course of the program, thousands of courses have become available – ranging from languages and soft skills to information technology. Whether you choose a subsidized course or not, it pays to be selective. Not every course is of the same quality, and the differences can be significant. To avoid disappointment and gain skills you can actually use, here are three tips to help you choose wisely:
1. Check the qualification and expertise of the instructors
A good instructor makes a good course. To deliver knowledge in a clear and practical way, the instructor should not only have theoretical expertise in the subject or technology but also relevant hands-on experience. For authorized courses, such as those focused on Cisco or Microsoft products, look for certified trainers. Reviews and references are also valuable – seek out specific feedback from people who have already completed the course.
2. Pay attention to course content and relevance
Technology evolves quickly. Choose courses that cover the latest versions of software, tools, or methodologies. Make sure the course includes sufficient time for practical exercises and labs, as this is where you’ll learn the most. A quality provider also offers the option to tailor course content to the specific needs of participant groups.
3. Consider course formats and training facilities
For more complex topics, most participants prefer in-person training. However, the option to take a course online is equally important if your circumstances require it. If you opt for in-person training, also pay attention to the facilities – the training room should be well-equipped with technology, spacious, properly ventilated, and ideally offer refreshments throughout the day.
“Investing in education is one of the most valuable investments, for both individuals as well as companies. At the same time, it’s important not to be tempted by price alone. The quality of the course and its practical benefits should be the main criteria, ensuring that the time and effort you put into learning bring the results you expect – whether you seek new career opportunities or aim to keep up with technology in your current profession,” says Jitka Sotonová, OKškolení Training Center Manager.
