News in Cisco and Linux certification

Cisco certification

Some of the Cisco certification exams will be replaced by a new version during the summer. With the new version of the exam will correspond also a new version of the recommended training. Therefore, if you have already completed the training, you should not delay passing certification exam.

The changes concern for example the exams required for certification CCENT, CCNA, CCNA Security, CCDA and CCDP.

How can you obtain CCNA certification?

You have two possibilities: the first is that you must pass two exams (one exam corresponds to the content of ICND1 training and the second corresponds to ICND2 training). Another possibility is that you must pass one overall exam. Last chance to pass an exam in the older version is 20. 8. 2016 (overall exam 200-120 or partial ICND1 exam 100-101) and 24. 9. 2016 (ICND2 exam 200-101). After these dates, it will be possible to sign up only to new versions of the exams.

We recommend to always verify current information about exams required for certification on the web page of Cisco. When ordering an exam we only mediate the exam and we do not investigate the combination of exams.

SUSE Linux Certification

SUSE introduced a new system of certifications which has three levels (administrator, engineer and architect) and newly it has four specializations: Enterprise Linux, OpenStack Cloud, Enterprise Storage and Systems Management.

SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) is the first level of certification in the specialization Enterprise Linux. The SCA in Enterprise Linux replaces the Certified Linux Administrator (CLA), with no changes in the objectives, training courses or certification exams. The training covers day-to-day administration tasks in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments.

SUSE Certified Engineer (SCE) in Enterprise Linux replaces the Certified Linux Professional (CLP), with no changes in the objectives, training courses or certification exams. SUSE Certified Engineer training covers more advanced day-to-day engineering level tasks in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Environments. The SCA in Enterprise Linux certificate is required to receive SUSE Certified Linux Professional (CLP) certificate.

Candidates achieve SUSE Enterprise Architect (SEA) by getting certified in a sufficient number of the requisite Engineer and Administrator focus areas. There is no test for becoming SEA. To become a SUSE Enterprise Architect, candidates must achieve a certification portfolio that includes:

  • 3 Administrator certifications from any of the existing tracks
  • 2 Engineer certifications from any 2 of the tracks where the candidate has already certified at the Administrator level
  • 1 elective certification from any track
